Downtown East for Progress was founded in 2007 as an OFA group (Obama for America, then Organizing For Action) to help elect Barack Obama. We are dedicated to using proven methods of outreach to create change on issues of importance to our community and country, as well as to elect candidates who support those changes. We work to advance issues including civil rights, voting rights, environmental protection, health care, gun violence prevention, and countering disinformation.
